live music for your event
THE BAND
Say Yes, Juliet has been playing together for over a decade in the Austin area. In fact, many of the members were originally part of a ska band, Don't Eat That! As life pulled the members in various geographic directions, Elliott, Andrew, and Luke were fortunate enough to remain in close proximity during their college years giving them the opportunity to play as a trio for many local coffee shops, wine bars, and happy hours. Over the recent years, they've energized weddings and private parties/events alike, leaving lasting impressions with their upbeat and entertaining performances.
Andrew - The Voice
Music has been a part of Andrew's life for as long as he can remember. He began playing the piano when he was 8 and graduated to the cello at age 10. He continued to play in the school orchestra throughout high school while also getting involved in musical theatre. It was here that he found a real love for acting and performing live music, especially the latter. He and his friends Elliott and Luke officially began playing music together in college, finding a home in various coffee shops and bars in and around San Marcos, TX. Since then, Andrew has found his voice singing everything from All-American Rejects to Zac Brown Band. While he loves playing his mandolin, genres like hard rock, punk, reggae, and country are certainly in his wheelhouse.
Elliott - The Strings
Elliott started his musical journey in 5th grade playing the violin but one day discovered he wanted to "play the biggest instrument" and switched to the string bass. He played in high school and college orchestra and concert band. These days you can catch him playing guitar and singing, usually something reggae or acoustic. His favorite artists and musical inspiration include Bob Marley, Duke Ellington, Zac Brown Band, Hootie and the Blowfish, and Cas Haley.
Luke - The Brass
While Luke dabbles with many instruments, his primary instrument is the trumpet. Starting back in 2000, he has played any kind of trumpet music, from mariachi and polka bands, to wind ensembles, to every type of jazz genre you can name, and even branching into Americana Rock. Regardless of the genre, he is fueled by the drive to entertain the audience.
Jamal - The Beat
Jamal started playing music in church at the age of 8 when his mother enrolled him in piano and choir lessons to keep him from pestering the local musicians. Now, with over 15 years of performance experience, he’s made the rounds as a pianist, guitarist, vocalist, and percussionist before landing on his true passion instrument: the drums. As a percussionist, drummer and guitarist he’s been seen playing with members of Latin music group “Grupo Fantasma”, along with many other local Austin acts ranging from Country to Hip-Hop. These days you can find him passionately educating up and coming musicians and following his dreams of spreading joy through music.
